Security under control
KUALA LUMPUR: The security situation is reportedly under control without any untoward incidents. Federal police Internal Security and Public Order Department director Datuk Seri Zulkifli Abdullah when contacted as of 2pm, police did not receive reports of commotions nationwide including any rally by political parties’ supporters. “As of 4am today, we received reports on minor riot by several political parties’ supporters who refused to disperse after instructed by the police.
“But the situation was brought under control as they followed police orders,” he said. Zulkifli said currently policemen who were tasked for 14th General Election (GE14) are in a state of alert and would respond if any disorder occured. “Policemen are on standby mode, they will be on-duty till the new government is formed and the situation is secured,” he said.
He added police hope Malaysians, particularly political parties’ supporters, would accept the election outcome with an open heart.
“What we hope is for Malaysians to maintain the peace and national harmony.
Do not gather at any location as a sign of protest against the former government as well as the new government formed,” he said.
