Northern Ireland's biggest independent security company, Lisburn-based Mercury Security Management, has warned local businesses that the new EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) could have serious implications for their security systems and procedures, including the use of CCTV cameras. Under the new regulations, companies will have to explain why they are using CCTV and disclose what they do with data and images captured. The new regulations will come into effect on May 25.

Every company will have to prove that they have policies and documented procedures in place.
