Manything to integrate video monitoring app with Hikvision R6 platform

IFSEC 2017 Manything has been working with Hikvision to integrate its software with Hikvision R6 platform IP cameras in time for launch at IFSEC 2017. Manything provides an instant cloud for network cameras, so users can watch live feeds, access stored footage from the cloud and remotely control cameras from the Manything app or web viewer. Manything provides a brilliant cloud storage solution which can work alongside the Hikvision NVR for additional back up, said Jason Yang, Hikvision UK general manager.

Manything is also integrating its software with Axis cameras, which will launch later this year. No port-forwarding Manything automatically discovers compatible cameras on the network. One tap of the app adds Manything software to the camera in a set-up process that takes a few minutes, with no port-forwarding or router configuration. Network cameras running the Manything software are non-discoverable and have UPnP and NAT disabled. The camera password is encrypted and is not transmitted outside the local network. The Manything app is optimised to work in poor network conditions so if uplink is weak the app will adjust the recording specifications to ensure motion is still captured. Recorded events are saved in the cloud. Manything can replace the need for an NVR/DVR or work alongside these devices for additional back up. Depending on the subscription plan, footage stored in the cloud is accessible for varying amounts of time.

Manything is seeking partners to resell its cloud service for network cameras. For national distributors, in some cases Manything will offer a white label version of the app and web viewer. Installers linked to the distributor can upload their branding and contact details so their end users see installer/distributor co-branding when they use the app. Distributors will also have a branded web portal (or its API) to manage installer and end user accounts. Regional installers who resell directly from Manything can upload their branding and contact details into the existing Manything app so their end users see installer/Manything co-branding. They ll also have access to the Manything web portal to manage end user accounts. Tyco: profile of a fire and security colossus

Tyco: Profile Of A Fire And Security Colossus

Profile of Tyco, one of the world s largest fire safety and security companies with a customer base claimed to exceed three million in industrial, commercial and residential sectors worldwide. The firm s 69,000 employees include scientists, engineers, sales professionals, technicians and management staff in over 1,000 locations in nearly 50 countries including research and development labs, manufacturing facilities, service and distribution centres, and sales offices. Company history Tyco s United States headquarters are in Princeton, New Jersey; its corporate headquarters have recently moved from Schaffhausen, Switzerland to Cork in the Republic of Ireland.

The company was founded in 1960 by Arthur J. Rosenburg as a research laboratory to conduct 1960s experimental work for the US government. The business focused on solid-state science and energy conversion and by 1962 began to move from US government research contracts into commercial applications. It went public in 1964 and one year later made its first acquisition, Mule Battery Products. Following further expansion in the 1970s, it began pursuing an extensive acquisition strategy which saw the procurement of leading brands such as AlliedTube and Conduit and Grinnell Corporation. In 2012, Tyco International was divided, separating the firm s Flow Control business, North America s residential security business and its international fire and security business. The separation resulted in the creation of Tyco (fire protection and electronic security), the ADT Corporation (residential and small business security in North America) and Flow Control (fluid valves, controls, and equipment protection products). Tyco products and services include: CCTV/access control equipment (Tyco Integrated Security, ADT, American Dynamics, Kantech, Software House, CEM Systems) Circuit protection devices EAS (electronic article surveillance) and RFID (radio frequency identification) products (Sensormatic) Engineering services Fire alarm systems (Simplex, ADT) Fire sprinklers (SimplexGrinnell, Wormald) Fire-fighting hardware and fire-fighting foam concentrates (Ansul, Chemguard, Skum, Total Walther, and Sabo) GRINNELL grooved products Safety products (including industrial-site safety & personal protective equipment (PPE) SCOTT Safety) Security systems (Tyco Integrated Security, ADT, DSC) Valves and controls One recent fire protection innovation has seen subsidiary Tyco Fire Protection Products launch its Raven Studio sprinklers range. Designed mainly for commercial applications such as hotels, casinos, offices, educational facilities, museums and other cultural properties, the 5.6K pendent and horizontal sidewall Raven Studio Sprinklers are claimed to be UL and C-UL listed, and to be available in standard coverage for the protection of Light and Ordinary Hazard occupancies and Extended Coverage for Light Hazard applications.

By incorporating an unobtrusive, low-profile design with a paint-in-place escutcheon, the new Tyco Raven Studio sprinklers are uniquely discreet sprinklers in the industry today, said Luke Connery, Global Product Manager at Tyco Fire Protection Products. This can afford architects and interior designers an enhanced level of creative freedom not available with more traditional sprinkler options. Proximex surveillint PSIM solution from Tyco Designer sprinklers The new sprinklers are claimed to feature a paint-in-place escutcheon, providing clients with a variety of custom colours to match the palette of a project. The flush design is made aesthetically appealing by concealing the deflector and other operating parts behind the link assembly. Raven Studio Sprinklers, with a heat sensitive solder type release element, are listed as quick response sprinklers. On the video surveillance side, Tyco Integrated Security (TycoIS) recently announced Total Security, a system claimed to combine access control, IP video surveillance and intrusion detection. Available via a unified graphical user interface (GUI), Total Security apparently allows users to manage multiple security tasks on any Internet connected device. With real-time alerts, remote arm/disarm capabilities, access management and live video look-in, Total Security aims to improve workplace safety, security and business operations. Today s always-on, always-connected workforce was a key driver in building out the Total Security solution for our customers, said Joe Oliveri, Vice President & General Manager at TycoIS.

By combining video surveillance, access control and intrusion detection, organizations can save time and money on system maintenance better spent concentrating on core business functions. The Fireclass range from Tyco Scalable surveillance system structure Total Security is claimed to allow business owners and security managers to remotely handle more than 20 security tasks in real time. Tailored for mid-size businesses, the system is said to scale to larger environments as operations grow. Solution components include the company s Kantech Intevo and Exacq /AD Illustra for video integration, Kantech KT Series for access control, DSC NEO intrusion detection, EntraPass Web and Go mobile application Total Security provides one-app view for access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection, which is claimed to help users avoid spending time and resources contacting multiple providers for questions, software upgrades, service and administration. In addition, the simplified solution is available on Internet connected devices, facilitating remote operation. Hanwha Techwin 4K Samsung Wisenet P series boosts bandwidth efficiency by up to 75%

Hanwha Techwin 4K Samsung Wisenet P Series Boosts Bandwidth Efficiency By Up To 75%

Hanwha Techwin has launched three Samsung Wisenet P cameras equipped with 4K resolution, H.265 compression and a new compression technology. WiseStream, which dynamically controls encoding to trade-off quality and compression according to movement within the image, slashes bandwidth and storage demands to levels normally associated with lower resolution, full HD H.264 cameras. Combined with H.265 compression WiseStream boosts bandwidth efficiency by up to 75% compared to the H.264 technology deployed in most modern video surveillance systems.

Digital auto tracking The new Wisenet P cameras also boast digital auto tracking, which can be used to detect moving objects or people during periods of low activity, such as nighttime. In common with the Wisenet Q 2MP and 4MP cameras launched last year, they also feature IR illumination and defocus detection, which recognises when a camera is out of focus, as well as true wide dynamic range, hallway view and lens distortion correction. The sharpness and clarity of 4K cameras need to be seen to be believed, but they can come at a cost, said Chris Parry, country manager for the UK and Ireland at Hanwha Techwin Europe. Multi-pixel, high definition images can quickly fill up the capacity of an NVR or server when recorded at full frame rate and resolution. The good news is that Hanwha Techwin design engineers have cleverly solved this problem by developing our unique WiseStream technology.

Public security – Wikipedia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia See also: public safety

Public security is the function of governments which ensures the protection of citizens, organizations, and institutions against threats to their well-being and to the prosperity of their communities.1

To meet the increasing challenges in the public security area, responsible public institutions and organisations can tap into their own intelligence to successfully address possible threats in advance. They optimise their internal structures, use synergies, and carefully balance costs and benefits of their measures.

Framework

Organised crime and international terrorism are hardly deterred by geographical, linguistic, or financial barriers. Competence and administrative hurdles play into their hands. The latter has largely contributed to public security becoming an important political and economic issue, nationally as well as internationally. Politics, public organisations and businesses closely collaborate to guarantee public security and maintain a stable environment for economic prosperity.

Although public security significantly contributes to the attractiveness of a location, the productivity of its people, and hence the overall success of an economy, the sector frequently suffers from low budgets, limited resources, and inadequate information systems. Large events, pandemics, severe accidents, environmental disasters, and terrorism attacks pose additional threats to public security and order.

The police, federal police and border authorities nonetheless need to warrant the security of the country as a fundamental prerequisite for the domestic political ability to act. The quality and scope of potential threats have changed significantly, and the tasks and general framework for the police, federal police and border authorities have changed accordingly.
