Baroness Ruth Henig recognised for contribution to security sector

Baroness Ruth Henig recognised for contribution to security sector The Security Industry Authority’s chairman is the recipient of a Building The Future Special Award for her “outstanding contribution to the security business sector”. It was back in 2003 that Interconnective introduced the Infologue.com Building The Future Award, which is bestowed upon the individual or organisation that has used the last 12 months and more to create a significant footprint: a footprint on the road towards a vibrant, wholly professional and mutually profitable security guarding sector. The accolade is always presented jointly by Bobby logue, the managing director of Interconnective, and Brian Sims, media solutions manager for UBM Live s Security Portfolio.

The 2012 Building The Future Special Award presentation was a closely-guarded secret at the Security Excellence Awards, and concluded the evening’s celebrations. The citation in full Here is the full citation as read on stage by Bobby Logue: “No one who has been involved in the private security industry in recent years can have failed to notice the major improvements in the way that the industry Regulator has operated. Today, well over 90% of security industry authority licences are issued within the target time of five weeks…

but nearly 25% are finalised inside a week! “The Security Industry Authority (SIA) has also built effective partnerships with the police, and carried out a series of successful prosecutions. “No Regulator is ever likely to be universally popular, but the SIA is now widely respected by and fully engaged with the private security sector. “Many people in the industry and within the SIA have been involved in this change, but there has been one consistent individual over the last six years who has set a vision and expectations for the Regulator, and who has worked tirelessly to build trust and confidence in the industry. “This person has been the SIA s chairman since january 2007. In her modest way she would attribute credit for the SIA s successes to others. However, Brian Sims and myself believe the way in which an organisation behaves reflects its leader. “Our award recipient has led on definitive change: better services, better value and better relationships from a credible Regulator covering the whole of the UK. “She has been a champion for the industry and its Regulator, and we feel her contribution over the last six years has been enormous. “That s why we would like to present our Building The Future Special Award to Baroness Ruth Henig.” Response from the Baroness Speaking about this accolade, Baroness Ruth Henig said: “I am greatly honoured to receive this prestigious award.

I would like to thank my friends and colleagues across the industry and at the SIA for all their help and encouragement over the past few years.” Baroness Henig continued: “The successes we have achieved are the results of collaboration and strong partnership working between the Regulator and the industry, and we must ensure that these efforts continue.” Baroness Ruth Henig speaks on policing issues in the House of Lords and is a member of the House of Lords European Scrutiny Committee which covers social policies and consumer protection. She has extensive experience within the police and security sector, and is currently serving as a member of the Independent Police Commission chaired by Lord Stevens. The Baroness is also president of the Association of Police Authorities and was formerly chairman of Lancashire Police Authority as well as a member of the National Criminal Justice Board.

In 2000, Baroness Henig was awarded a CBE for her services to policing and, in 2002, appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant for Lancashire.

In June 2004, Ruth Henig was made a life peer as Baroness Henig of Lancaster.

Dallmeier take Panomera on tour in striking Italian-designed truck

Dallmeier take Panomera on tour in striking Italian-designed truck Dallmeier is to take its Panomera system on tour across Europe in a unique, and striking show truck designed by Italian industrial designer Luigi Colani. Setting off at Security Essen on September 25th the Panomera Promotional European Tour will showcase Dallmeier s multifocal sensor system across five countries. The truck will be hauling an 80m2 two level presentation space to present the patented Panomera technology.

Panomera allows large areas to be monitored in high resolution, and people are encouraged to visit the tour to see it in action. Dallmeier s marketing says that Panomera opens up unimagined realms of opportunity to the video security industry. Dallmeier are hoping the truck will prove as much of a draw to crowds as the multifocal sensor technology.

They said: Just like Panomera, the show truck is something very special itself: it consists of an exclusive tractor unit created by design legend Luigi Colani, and its unusual, futuristic appearance attracts admiring stares wherever it goes. The tractor unit puts out an incredible 460 hp! If you re interested in visiting the tour, you are encouraged to register at panomera.com/en/roadshow.
